The Craigmillar Business Incubator Project (CBIP) started
in June 2001, to provide comprehensive advice and support to new
start and existing businesses, which traditionally have not
approached mainstream business advice services. As part of the CBIP
support we offer the 'Business Grant Fund' which allows us to make
awards of up to £5000 to businesses subject to conditions. The total
fund amounts to £90,000 annually allowing us to support around 50
businesses with direct grant support. The total project size is over
£1 m for the period 2004/5. The project is funded by SIP, ERDF
& partners.

Alasdair Kerr - Manager
Alasdair has managed the project since it started in October 2001 and
he has overseen its expansion.
Alasdair is delighted with the high demand for CBIP services and the
project has significantly exceeded all of its targets. CBIP has been
successful in securing additional funding to allow it to resource and
deliver initiatives that are helping the local business community and
the regeneration of our area.
Linda Fenwick - Business Assistant
Linda has been employed since July 2002. Linda assists Alasdair in
the day to day running of the project and also assistants clients
with Business Plans, Financials and general help and support.
Maureen Munro – Business Development Adviser
Maureen joined CBIP in September 2005. As a Business Development Adviser
she will be on hand to offer specialist advice and support to new and
existing businesses. She will play a key role in identifying growth
opportunities for businesses within Greater Craigmillar.
Susan Todd – Grant & Loans Administrator
Susan joined CBIP on 5 Jan 2004. Susan will compliment current
CBIP activities and look after our current local grant and financial
support schemes. She will also administer the citywide Edinburgh
Business Loan Fund and specialist childcare resources. As part of the
team she will also assist the advisers with business start-up and
aftercare.
